 Chapter 6

A ball of terror formed in his stomach as soon as he turned to harken to the voice- telling him to run.

It was a cool, windy night; the swaying of trees and rustling of leaves could be heard but not seen.

An owl hooter somewhere closer as Obinnze ran for his life through the thickness of the night with all his strength he has in him.

 Fear clogged his throat.

He could still feel the presence of the Smoky Demon form at his heels.

In his hasten state he didn't noticed the red light emitting out from the necklace he wore nor did he noticed what was upfront.

He was so engrossed with his running that he didn't even see more of the Demon shadow smoky form at his front blocking the way.

Something or rather someone stopped him from running forward thereby preventing him from running into the legion of The Shadow demons.

Obinnze quickly looked at his left shoulder, he felt a weight, a hand, on his right shoulder but he couldn't see the person. He or She seemed invisible.

Whoever is grabbing him must have been the person who'd prevented him from crashing with the demons.

"I won't pick up a fight with the young boy if I were you". A very calm unknown male voice spoke . The voice sounded at his right hand. Obinnze guessed it was the same person.

Obinnze turned sharply to look behind him when he suddenly heard a deep monstrous thunderous roar that echoed throughout the forest. The smoky shadow from earlier that has being the reason why he was running bared its ugly razor teeth at him.

"I don't think they will ever find out about my facade face My Lord". Adamma said, her head slightly touching the ground.

"You may rise up, I don't have much time". The Shadow who came through the wall said.

Adamma stood up to her feet.

"I was at the scared hut when Obinnze walked in". The Shadow voice said slowly.

"Yes My Lord, I was also with him, he told me he saw the Half Sword of OlaUdo surrounded by bright light but that can't be possible". Adamma said whispering the last part.

"I just told you I was in the scared hut when he entered the scared place, Obinnze was right, the sword indeed was surrounded by light and was floating in the air". The Shadow spoke again.

"But how come I couldn't see it my Lord?" Adamma questioned.

"If you have lived up to my age, you might be able to see it the way I saw it or not". The Shadow responded back.

"Then he is the one, but what are we going to do now? The king has banished Obinnze from Umudike Kingdom and the three kingdoms as well". Adamma told him.

"I know of that Adamma. One of my Shadow demons nearly told him who was truly behind the attack on Ebubedike..".

 Interrupting him.

"What? How? I thought they were loyal to you". Adamma said in pure shock.

"..I thought so too but I was wrong about him. I quickly send one of my Demon shadows to put an end to him, together with the body he was occupying".

"That is good My Lord, so what about the boy?" Adamma asked.

"I instructed the Demon to kill the young boy at once and bring his heart to me, I only need Obinnze's heart. And the job would be more easier because Obinnze can't see us". The Shadow voice answered with a boastful pride.

"Once the heart is in our hands, then my job is done, killing the king and his son would be more easier, oh it calls for celebration". Adamma said happily.

"Do not rejoice yet Adamma, until the boy's heart is within our grasp you have to hold your celebration first. Remember why you are here". The Shadow man concluded.

"Of course my Lord". Adamma said, a thought suddenly crossed her mind. "My Lord, I have always wanted to ask you a question that has being bugging me for years now". Adamma began softly as she once again bowed her head in respect.

"And what can it be?" The Shadow voice asked.

"I had always wanted to know what really happened to Amadioha my Lord". Adamma finally told him.

After several minutes has passed and she hasn't heard a word from her Lord, she straightened her neck to ask about his suddenly silence when she noticed he was gone. She was alone in her hut once again.

 ******

"Who spoke that word?" The Shadow that roared asked.

"Even if I tell you, you won't believe me. My candidate advice to you demons, leave the boy and go back to your master if you want to stay in one piece". The male voice said again.

"And who are you to order us around as if you own us, don't you know whose presence you are" The Shadow Demon said.

 A chuckle was heard.

Obinnze managed to glance up at his saviour, he only met two red eyes peering briefly at him then turning to face the shadow Demon.

"I hate to repeat myself, leave the boy alone and you won't die". He repeated again.

"Just because you are invisible and have red pale eyes doesn't mean I should be afraid of you. I want the boy, after taking his heart I can give you his body since you really want him and for the records you can't stop me fool".

No sooner has he utter those words the red eye voice chuckled again. The air around them seemed to darkened the more. The windy breeze began to dangerously increase before suddenly it became still.

"I will definitely not kill you because you would be the one that will report back to your master after I am through with you. But the rest of your demons behind the boy are dead". He said in a assured way. He spoke with confidence as he and the shadow Demon leader started a staring contest.

"Attack the red eyes and bring the boy to me now!!!" He roared with vigour, commanding the rest of the demons.

The sound of the wind was the only thing Obinnze heard before in his very eyes the demons coming towards them dissolved into thin air. No words or any form of sword clashing, they simply dissolved.

The demon leader widened his eyes in shock as he saw what had happened.

His eyes left where his demons where to meet the red eyes.

"Who are you that you can be able to kill not one demons but many?" The Shadow Demon voice was filled with fear when he asked.

"Who I am is not really important, like I told you before I won't kill you. Go and tell your master that you met a man with Red eyes, he will tell you who I am". The red eyes spoke.

The Shadow Demon nodded and disappeared quickly.

Obinnze realized he was alone with the red eyes.

"Are you also going to kill me?"

"Kill you? I can't do that my master". The red eyes told Obinnze. "I am here to take you home".

"Home? I have no home again". Obinnze said sadly.

 The man chuckled again.

"Not your old home, I was talking about your new home master, where I stay with the people who are like me".

"Master? Why are you calling me that?" Obinnze asked.

"That was the instruction Nga gave to us before she passed away and beside She choose you to rule over me and my colleagues".

 "You know Nga?"

"There is a lot you don't know off master, but with time you will learn everything".

"So does that mean I will be as powerful as you are?" Obinnze question which the invisible man laughed at.

"Nga choose you for a reason Master which is yet to unfold, but yes you are going to be stronger than me".

"Okay if you say so. Why are you invisible?"

"That would be a tale for another day. Walk towards me". The red eyes said and without hesitation Obinnze walked right towards him.

 They disappeared.

 ******

"What! That can't be possible, the Red eyes doesn't exist, they are myth just like Me". The Shadow figure who had visited Adamma thundered fiercely at the news one of his leading demons had told him.
