Chapter 7
"With what I saw with my eyes tonight and he specifically told me to tell you about him, I think they truly exist my Lord". The demon said trying to make his master believe what he reported.
"They exist then, this is quite interesting. So the Red eyes took him?" The dark Shadow mused in thought. "This changes everything then". He added after a while.
"Yes My Lord, he took him away letting me live to report to you". The Shadow Demon said to his master. "If I may ask my Lord, who are these red eyes and why are you in doubt that they existed", he added.
"The red eyes were once evil creatures of old who were given a second chance from ChuckwuOlisa (God) to see if they had changed from their evil ways when they had seek his face. They failed to protect the sword and Amadioha when he faced me a long time ago. They long ceased to exist because ChuckwuOlisa gave them a punishment- no one knows what the punishment really is but, whatever the punishment was- I think it is connected to Obinnze since they took him away". The dark Shadow man explained to the Demon.
"So what are you going to do My Lord since Obinnze is now with the red eyes". The demon shadow asked him carefully.
"Simple, the plan has change. Onye nodu ebe ono, ebe onoghi ana agu ya- No matter what a man’s position is, he’ll still want to go to a higher position. I want to rule and become the Grand King. Obinnze's heart would have returned me back into my real body as I was also punished like this by ChuckwuOlisa, with Obinnze's heart I would have accomplished a lot of things and probably know where the other half sword is but he is not within our reach anymore so I think I would go for the second option". The dark Shadow man told the Demon.
"Second option? Which is?" The demon shadow asked.
Chuckling a bit. "Go for Ebubedike of course".

"Why do you want to kill Ebubedike now? He was not part of our plan, killing him now would raise eyebrows and the King would seek the reason behind his son sudden death. There are gods stronger than you in case you have forgotten so soon my Lord". Adamma told the shadow as she bowed her head in respect.
She was surprised when he came to her hut the second time in one night. He had quickly feed her with the latest development then he made suggestion of Ebubedike.
"If not for one thing I would have cut off that stupid tongue of yours but I need it. First of all I didn't say I will kill Ebubedike rather we are going to use him for our own benefits". The dark Shadow man told Adamma.
"I don't get you my Lord". Adamma said as she was confused at where he was heading too.
"We will convince Ebubedike to work with us". The dark Shadow man finally said his plan.
"How will you be able to do that? Do you think he would accept to work with us?" Adamma questioned.
"Yes, I believe so. If he is able to have unimaginable powers within him won't he work with us Adamma? Eneke siri na kemgbe mmadu mutara gbaba ya egbe na akwusi akwusi, ya onwe ya mutara febe efebe ebeghi ebe- Eneke the bird said that since humans learnt to shoot at it nonstop without missing, it has learnt to fly without perching". The dark Shadow man said. "Ebubedike is like the Eneke bird, I shall give him wings to fly beyond imagination but never in his wildest dream would he know we are going to shoot him. After I have used him to my gain I will put an end to his life". He added as he if was so sure of himself.
"You sound as if you are so sure he would accept your offer and go against his father". Adamma said after a while.
"You never can tell what can happen, after all Obinnze would return 15 years later on, strong perhaps, before then I would have turn a powerful Ebubedike against him, imagine when they fight and kill themselves. Umudike would be left with no heir and I will finally emerged out of nowhere and turn things around".
"You think this plan of yours would work?" Adamma asked.
"Of course it will, but if it didn't work out as I planned it, I am not out of ideas, one way or the other I shall have Obinnze heart where I intend it to be". The dark Shadow man said laughing out softly.
"But what about the Half Sword of OlaUdo, won't it try to stop any of our evil intentions against this kingdom?"
"OlaUdo is a half sword and can't do anything, that is another reason why I need Obinnze's heart. The OlaUdo sword shone in his presence which means he is the one who can find the other half sword. Without the other half the sword is completely useless".
"So how will you make Ebubedike become one of us?" Adamma demanded.
"Don't worry about that Adamma in fact I have a clever idea". The dark Shadow responded.

"Father your harsh punishment on my brother Obinnze was too much, banishing him was not a good idea, you could have punished him instead". Ebubedike said to his father. He had earlier on seek the face of his father to discuss something important with him.
"If I had known this was what you wanted to discuss with me I wouldn't have granted you the permission. The die has been cast already and there is no going back. Obinnze has long gone and will only return to Umudike after 15 years if he likes. You should be getting ready to sit on this throne in a few years time than be bothered about something which can't be undone. Weather you like it or not, Obinnze tried to kill you, so he deserves the banishment". Omeigbo told his son.
"But what if....." Ebubedike was interrupted by his father.
"But nothing Ebubedike. Nwata etoghi etoghi wara ogodu, ikuku kue, o buru ya n’ogodu o ma n’ukwu- A child who is not yet of age but ties a wrapper, if the wind blows, the child will be blown away with the wrapper. The sooner you understand you'd be seeing Obinnze in 15 years time the better for you, you can leave now". Omeigbo finally said and gesture with his hand for Ebubedike to leave.
"Of course father". Ebubedike answered, bowed his head and left his father presence.

"You look sad son, what is the matter?" Adaku asked once she saw the solemn look on Ebubedike has he sat alone under the mango at the middle of the compound.
"Nothing grandma, I was only thinking of Obinnze". Ebubedike replied.
"My son you should know the ways of the gods are different. Your father did wrong by banishing a little boy- your brother- but no matter how you keep your face Obinnze won't return till the 15 years had elapsed". Adaku told him softly.
"But will he ever return? Will he survive on his own out there?" Ebubedike asked his greatest fear.
"If it is the will of the gods, he will return and in one piece too. You worry so much about him, why don't you quit and focus on your life here".

"I have to go and meet my great priest to tell me what to do now that one of the Prince is out of the way". Igwe Aku said to himself once he was alone in his hut, pacing around.
"If Ebubedike is out of the way like Obinnze, then killing the Grand King and making myself the newest grand king will be so easy". He chuckled to himself and immediately sat down on his bamboo bed.
"Yes, tomorrow before the cock crows I will visit my priest to tell me the next step".
***
"You will not strike now Aku, the gods won't be with you if you go against their wish". Ndu, the chief Priest Igwe Aku went to seek told him.
"You mean I should fold my Hands and legs and do nothing now that one of the Prince is gone or probably dead by now, Is that what you are trying to say?" Igwe Aku asked to be sure he heard right.
"Yes Aku. In fact you should forget about the throne and focus on the one you have. A great battle is coming, when two great powers clashes I don't know who will bow that is the message from the gods, forget your ambition and be satisfied with what you have Aku". The chief priest told him beating his gong.

Ebubedike felt the presence of another immediately he entered his hut. He was with his grandmother when he started feeling sleepy. He frantically looked around.
"Who is there?"
"Ebubedike the greatest, I am but a humble spirit who seek to bestowed great powers upon you. With such powers you will be invisible against your brother and those who wished for your death". The dark Shadow man said, his shadow form was seen moving around his hut wall.
"Who are you? And what are you saying?" Ebubedike asked.
"Who I am is not important, just consider me as your friend. Your brother has the powers of the Red Ones. They will groom him and when he returns he will overthrow you and become the king instead and I am here to prevent that from happening. In case you don't know, Obinnze planned all these. Without being banished he couldn't possess the powers he was promised. So he came up with this deadly plan". The Shadow told Ebubedike.
"And you want me to believe that? Obinnze can't do such a thing because he wants the throne". Ebubedike said not believing the shadow words.
"Tell me then why he accepted the crime if he was innocent? Where is he now? He planned all these for powers Ebubedike, powers to use against you once he returns. Let me teach you, allow me....."
"Enough of your talk, whatever you are ans whoever you are get out of my hut this moment". Ebubedike said commandly as the shadow form stopped in his movement and stepped out of the wall surprisingly. It stood before Ebubedike in a flash and touched his forehead before Ebubedike would get over his shock. He entered Ebubedike's body.
'Don't worry little boy. I will make you the greatest warrior and king, your name shall be told in folklore". The dark Shadow man said as he took over Ebubedike's soul and body.
'Once I am done and I have gotten what I came for, I will make sure you die peacefully'. The dark Shadow man in the Prince body thought silently to himself.
